Introduction to the DRC  -   Digital Repro Camera

 

 

What is the DRC system ?

 

The Digital Repro Camera is a high-resolution, high-quality stand alone Digital Camera, designed primarily for reproduction purposes.  Most common applications for the DRC are reproduction of : maps, wall painting, fabrics, fine arts, carpets, textile, architectural drawings, etc. As a stand alone Digital Camera, the DRC can easily fit in any reproduction environment. 

 

What is the relationship between the DRC and the DRS system ?

 

The DRC, even if it's one of the elements of the DRS system, it's a complete indipendent and stand alone Digital Camera. This allows the use of the DRC technology in any existing reproduction environment with no need of major changes. The DRC can be used either horizontally or vertically.

Very important to note is that, when used in the DRS system, due to the perfect integration with the other elements, the DRC can reach its maximum performances in terms of quality and speed.

What else do I need to properly run the DRC system ?

 

It depends on the specific requirements you have. In theory you might need a lighting system, a DRC camera support, a holding system for the originals (vacuum tables, magnetic tables, book cradle, etc.) and a computer PC. Some of this elements may be provided directly by Metis on customer request, some others (as the PC) must be purchased separately. Additional accessories for the DRC system are also available at  Metis as :  lens, filters, a special Metis support for the DRC, cables and others.
